Show what your Guardian is made of with the Destiny 2 Armory Overlay
If there’s one thing every Warlock, Hunter, and Titan can agree on, it’s that collecting loot in Destiny feels even better when you can show it off to your fellow Guardians. That’s why we’re excited to announce the Destiny 2 Armory Overlay, a new Extension that integrates directly into Twitch streams to let viewers inspect the rewards streamers have collected in their adventures across the solar system.
What are Twitch Extensions? In case you missed last week’s announcement, Extensions are a new system of panels and video overlays that support entirely new forms of real-time interaction. Streamers simply install and activate Extensions through a new tab on their Twitch Dashboard, and suddenly those Extensions are available for every viewer to see and engage with.
Built by our friends at Grab Games, the Destiny 2 Armory Overlay is a slick but powerful tool tailor-made for the Destiny community. By default, viewers will see a small icon on the corner of the video player. When they want to learn more about the streamer they’re watching, viewers can hit the icon and a translucent panel slides out to offer a deeper look at every weapon perk and armor stat on the streamer’s current loadout. Want to know the exact roll on that exotic hand cannon? You can do just that without ever leaving the video player.
It goes deeper than gear, too. Viewers can also analyze the streamer’s subclass abilities to see the precise build they’re using — something that should come in handy when picking up tips for your next Raid or learning how to dominate in the Crucible. When you’re done, just click that little icon to make the overlay slide away and you’re back to watching the stream.
Destiny 2 streamers can install the Armory Overlay through their Extension Manager right now, so be sure to check it out. As an added bonus, you’ll also find a similarly robust Extension available for Destiny 1. So get out there, Guardians, and share your legend with the world.
